Aboveground Tanks

  • The tank should be installed on a firm and smooth surface. No collapses should take place in future.
  • The surface on which the tank will be installed should be cleaned completely from any sharp or piercing material such as Stones, burrs etc.
  • In case of installation on a platform, the surface of the platform should not be reticular and the platform should be linaged by a water gauge.
  • The tank should be empty during loading, transportation, unloading and installation processes.
  • A sufficient empty space should be available around the tank for installation and future maintenance.
  • The tank should be assembled and installed by specialized staff.
  • The inlet and outlet fittings on the tank should not be tightened more than required.
  • Activities which may damage the tank (welding, grinding etc. near the tank) should be avoided.

Underground Tanks

Installation of Polyethylene Underground Tanks

  • The area where the tank is placed should be digged properly and the base should be filled with 25 cm steel reinforced concrete.
  • All sides of the hole should be walled wihth brickets up to the height of tank’s level. The gap between the surface of the tank and the wall should be 10 cm min.
  • The tank should be landed properly by a crane.
  • In case of no wall application, the gap between the surface of the tank and the surface of the hole should be 10 – 15 cm and this gap should be filled with tin sand after the tank is filled with water. The manhole level of the tank should be above the ground level.

After the installation and filling process is completed, no pedestrian or vehicle traffic should take place on the installation area.

Installation of Fiberglass Underground Tanks

  • The place where the tank will be placed should be digged properly considering 30 cm gap from the surface of the tank and the base should be filled with 25 cm stee reinforced concrete.
  • The tank should be landed properly by a crane.
  • After the tank is placed, the 30 cm gap should be filled with 8 – 10 mm gravelly sand. The manhole level of the tank should be above the ground level. Soil should not be used for filling process.
  • After the tank is installed and the hole is filled up, the tank should be covered by 15 cm steel reinforced concrete.
